The jazz and swing band from Berlin
Viola con Padrinos is a German jazz and swing band from Berlin that has existed in various lineups since 2006.
The core of the band has since consisted of Viola Woigk (voc.) and Janko Lauenberger (g.), reinforced by Robert Göber (db.), Bernd Huber (vl.) and Georg Kaminiczny (g.).
Guest musicians broaden the band's musical range.
New to the band is the Argentinian guitarist Francisco Batista, and Viola's son William Woigk, who provides support on drums.
The maxi-single “Sweet & lowdown” was released in 2011.
Viola con Padrinos is one of the few swing bands that performs Gypsy Jazz with vocals or mixes it with Neo Swing.
Thus, in 2016, the single "Berlin by Night" was released with a unique Berlin flair music video .
The band's standard lineup is a quintet consisting of double bass, two guitars, vocals, and violin. The band also performs as a jazz duo, jazz trio, or swing tet. Depending on the program, the band may be augmented by drums or trumpet.
Viola con Padrinos are suitable for a wide variety of events and audiences of all ages, whether for jazz festivals, concerts, galas, receptions, company events, corporate events or parties.
