Die Jazz- & Swingband aus Berlin

Swing band Berlin Viola con Padrinos

Viola con Padrinos is a German jazz and swing band from Berlin that has existed in various line-ups since 2006.

Since then, the core of the band has been Viola Woigk (voc.) and Janko Lauenberger (g.), reinforced by Robert Göber (db.), Bernd Huber (vl.) and Georg Kaminiczny (g.).

Guest musicians expand the band’s musical breadth.

New to the band is Argentinian guitarist Francisco Batista and Viola's son William Woigk on drums.

In 2011 the maxi single “Sweet & lowdown” was released.

Viola con Padrinos is one of the few swing bands that performs gypsy jazz with vocals or mixes it with neo swing.

The single “Berlin at Night” was released in 2016.

The band's standard line-up is a quintet, consisting of double bass, 2 guitars, vocals and violin. The band performs as a jazz duo, jazz trio or swingtet. Depending on the program, the band is expanded to include drums or trumpet.

Viola con Padrinos are suitable for a wide range of events and for audiences of all ages, whether it is a jazz festival, concert, gala, reception, company event or party. Viola also appears as a surprise solo guest with half playback.
